Datum keeps data collection minimal. This policy covers the Datum website and desktop apps, explains what we collect, and explains what we do not do. We do not run in-app telemetry unless you explicitly opt in.

What We Collect

  • Contact details you give us directly, such as your name, email address, and support messages.
  • Purchase information handled through LemonSqueezy, such as order details, tax invoices, and billing status.
  • Licence and entitlement information handled by Datum, such as product access, update-window status, device activations, and support history.
  • Minimal website usage data from Cloudflare hosting and analytics, used to understand traffic at a coarse level.
  • Optional diagnostic reports from the desktop apps, only when you choose to send them.

How We Use It

We use this information to:

  • deliver downloads, licence activation, entitlement refresh, and updates
  • answer support requests and product questions
  • send transactional email such as receipts and licence notices
  • understand whether the site is working and where it is being used

We do not sell personal data. We do not use advertising trackers or marketing pixels.

Third Parties

  • LemonSqueezy for payment processing and merchant-of-record services
  • Resend for transactional email
  • Buttondown for newsletters, if you subscribe
  • Cloudflare for hosting, delivery, licensing infrastructure, and minimal analytics

Retention

We keep purchase and licence records for as long as needed to support the software, meet tax and accounting obligations, and handle refund or support requests. Support messages and diagnostics are kept only for as long as needed to resolve the issue or improve the product.

Cookies And Analytics

The website uses minimal operational cookies where needed and Cloudflare Analytics for coarse traffic measurement. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies, ad networks, or session replay tools.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port the personal data we hold about you. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also have GDPR rights that apply to your data.
